Tempo Run

Great Run today! Tempo run is crucial to racing success as it trains my body to sustain speed over distance. It also improves a crucial physiological variable for running success (our metabolic fitness)

Typically, 20 minutes is sufficient or a 5km run. By maintaining my pace of 5:30min/km for 20 minutes, I should be able to run covering a distance of 4km. The remaining 1km is at my best pace of the day.

For runners, they should do longer tempo runs during their training weeks. Im happy to make tempo running as a part of my weekly training.
